Objective:

The lecture aimed to raise awareness about the importance of educating communities on earthquakes, their impacts, and effective measures to mitigate risks and enhance resilience.
The event was organized by the Civil Engineering Department in association with IGS Pune Chapter. The expert for the same were Dr Vasant A. Matsagar. The expert taught the basics of earthquakes, types of seismic hazards, understanding structural vulnerabilities, risk assessment, and effective mitigation strategies. The lecture also addressed the importance of community involvement in earthquake resilience efforts. Objective:
The non-destructive testing (NDT) workshop aimed to provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of various NDT techniques and their applications in the field of engineering.
The event was organized by the Civil Engineering Department in association with IGS Pune Chapter. The expert for the same was Er Ganesh Jadhav. The event was organized by the Civil Engineering Department in association with IGS Pune Chapter. The expert for the same were Er Vikas Patil. The expert lecture on retaining walls and new technology aimed to provided an in-depth understanding of the subject matter. The lecture highlighted the importance of retaining walls in various engineering projects and explored the advancements in technology that have revolutionized the design, construction, and maintenance of these structures. It emphasized the importance of embracing technological advancements in designing, constructing, and maintaining retaining walls. Objective:
An expert lecture was arranged on topic “Corporate Skill for Engineers” by the Civil Engineering Department. Mr Sanjay Upadhyay, Senior manager Reliance Jio- bp had delivered the lecture on the same. Prof Pote R.K started the lecture by giving introduction of the expert and felicitation of expert was done by head of department Dr.Ansari U.S. There after session was conducted by expert. He explained key points of aptitude test, group discussion, and personal interview also conducted the mock interview.  All the students from Civil Department enthusiastically participated in the session.

Description:
Visit of BE Civil was arranged on 11/10/2023 at Bankar Patil bitumen plant, Manmad. Students came to know about the different elements of steel structures.

B.E Civil students visited Shirdi Kakadi Airport on 09/09/2019 under the subject Transportation Engineering. From visit following technical points were learned by students Runway alignment, Pavement for runway, Orientation of Airport, Technical features of Airport construction.

 

B.E Civil students visited flyover construction on 06/08/2019 at Panvel to study the various parts of Prestressed girder and jacking system. From visit following technical points were learned by students Prestressing system, Reinforcement and Casting segment, bar bending of girder, Tendon and Strands, Cable profile and reinforcement, Hydraulic Jack system.

 

B.E Civil students visited Sewage treatment plant on 09/09/2019 at Navi Mumbai under the subject Environmental Engineering II. From visit following technical points were learned by students functioning of sewage treatment plants, different units of sewage treatment plant.

 

B.E Civil students visited Bankar Patil hot mix bitumen plant on 10/09/2019 at Yeola under the subject Transportation Engineering. From visit following technical points were learned by students functioning of bitumen plant, instruments used in construction of road, material management at pant etc.

 

T.E Civil students visited railway workshop on 06/09/2019 at Manmad. The Central Railway Engineering workshop at Manmad, which constructs and maintains railway bridges for central railways, marked 100 years of operation in December 2005. This workshop undertakes fabrication of steel structural items; including bridge girders (the longest span built so far is 400 ft or 122m). From visit following technical points were learned by students. Plat Girder, Gantry Girder Bolt manufacturing, Trusses, Lacing System and Battening System.

S.E Civil students visited READY MIX CONCRETE on 16/02/2020 located at Nashik to study various units used in RMC plant.  From visit following technical points were learned by student different terminologies of RMC, working Principle of RMC etc.


Students will learn about structural properties of material, types of joints, Suitability of bridges, Stability of Bridges, etc.
The event was organized by the Civil Engineering Department.
Students from SE, TE, and BE participated in the event by preparing the bridge.
Cash prizes will be given to winner in prize distribution event.

Online expert lecture on “Understanding the Universe by Scientific Temperament” was organized by Civil Department. Students of SE, TE and BE attended the lecture through online mode. Mr. Santosh Takale, Senior Scientist Bhabha Atomic Research Centre gave the information regarding the universe formation explained the scientific way in day to day life.
